  1. 12-1107 Richard – Election
Oh man, Richard! 5:30 came… well, at exactly the same time it does every morning ;-)

Yesterday evening, Cheryl said to me, “You should go to bed John. The results won’t be out until really late anyway. You’ll find out tomorrow morning.”

To which I replied, “After being together most of our lives, do you know me at all?” (Tongue in cheek, of course)

Despite the polls, which should have assuaged my fears a little, I was really worried. The economy. Voter suppression laws in every eastern battleground state. Top-down efforts in Florida to keep people from the polls, and encourage them to leave when they got there. I still thought it would be an uphill battle once folks got to a ballot to make their mark (if they got there at all).

I’m tired but I’ve never been so happy to maintain the status-quo. My Democrats are far from perfect, but I’ll take them over bat-shit crazy every day of the week, and twice on Sunday :-)

    Today is a good day!

  2. Whoops! I guess you can tell I draft comments in another app – I didn’t mean to include that first line with my last comment (evidence of a reckless cut & paste operation ;-)
